This is gonna sound "out there", but I had a very strange experience at the Movies last week.I went to see the new 3D
movie Avatar with one of my many brothers.

Not usually prone too much in the way of dyskinesia, I found the movie had me very squeermy. I got home and my wife found me way overstimulated as well. She remarked later
that it was a shame she couldnt have put a paint brush in my hand. At least it may have been productive.

At first she thought I had inadvertantly taken too much of my meds, but that was not the case. The only thing I could point to was the 3D effect. She has now cut me off from 3D
movies.

Does this make any sense to you or am I just rambling? I thought it might be akin to a person having a seizure after
being subjected to strobe lighting.

HMMMMM

Thanks

Greetings Chuck
Interesting comment.
My partner has some dyskinesia and I have noticed that when he is 'mentally' stimulated (typing onthe computer deep in thought, etc)his dyskinesias rev up but when he is sitting on the couch 'chillin' they are less.
I mentioned this to our MDS and he concurred that its the o' brain "thing"...somewhat like more tremors when its cold...increased stimulation---increased movement....
BTW how was the movie..have not seen yet

Regards
Greg

chuck,

If the body or mind gets put in a situation of overstrrss or overstimulation, the chemicals are released to help the body react to it. The situation you experienced caused your body to experience the "fight or flight" sinerio. For those that all normal levels of brain chemicals, this would not be a problem. In our situation, extra stress causes our muscles to tense up. This requires extra dopamine. Our body has only so much to use. Your mind was causing your body to show signs of anxiety and the pd was causing your body to experience little dopamine. These 2 together resulted in the excessive movement that apeqred to not be pd related. The fight or flight sinerio overode the pd for a short time.

In pd patients, the only time we react or act quickly is usually in times of emergency. The body is an amazing thing.

**Note to self. Never go to movies with Chuck.**

Sorry, lost my train of thought for a second. Hope this explainarion helps.

Best of health, physical and mental,

Mark

the article doesn't mention the person had a extra large coke, popcorn with extra butter, a large bag of skittles, was 200 lbs. overweight, had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, had 19 kids, 3 ex-wives, just got fired, and only has his yougnest son's big wheel to ride around looking for a job because the families only car broke down after it hit the family dog.

That's just a guess.
