Both theories are correct. Edema is a side effect of the medicine. Also, when we do not use our muscles in a certain area, less blood flow is needed to those muscles and the result is edema. Is it happening in the feet and ankles at all. If not, lack of use is probably the major factor. If you do have edema in the feet and ankles as well, the medicine is ;probably the major factor. You may want to discuss a diuretic (water pill) with your dr if the problem becomes bothersome or painful. Best of health, Mark
