I currently take remeron (30 mg) for tremor relief and sleep at night. It works well for me. I also take a total of 4 25/100 sinemet daily. I get very little on time and have wearing off dyskinesia. Any increase in sinemet creates more dyskinesia. I have tried requip and mirapex and was not able to tolerate either. My MDS has suggested azilect. He has left the decision up to me. He is comfortable prescribing it even though it carries a warning not to take with remeron. Becasuse the remeron works so well for me he does not want me to stop it. Any thoughts on Azilect with remeron? Thank You.

Let me ask you, have you tried the sinemet cr? It is an extended release that can decrease off times. I would rather see someone try this first.

The interaction between the the 2 is rare but fatal. It can result in serotonin syndrome which can result in extremely high blood pressure, increased heart (both can be fatal), and altered mental state (confusion, hallucination, and coma). If you want to stck with the remeron I would stay away from azilect. Better to be safe than sorry.

Best of health,

Mark

Thanks Mark,
I have been thinking about sinemet cr as well. It is not a favorite of my MDS but it was discussed as something to try at my last visit. Think I will go with the sinemet cr first to see what happens. I do want to stick with the remeron as it has really helped me. Both with sleep and tremor.

Thanks again,
Sunflower
