I cracked a tooth the other day and after seeing my dentist it's determined that I need a root canal to hpefully fix it. Dentist not sure root canal will work, so there is a possibility I'll need to get the tooth pulled, later. Anyway my neuro told me I need to stop taking Azilect for 2 weeks before I can get the tooth worked on. So... for the next two weeks I have constant tooth pain (vicodin will help some), plus will my PD symptoms intensify? This is not very fun. Anybody experience this? Thanks,

the reason to stop azilect is that it could possibly interact with the anesthesia causes a possible increase in blood pressure. The amount of time before the procedure you need to stop depends on how long you have been on it. Best of health, Mark

I wasn't sure if it interacted by increasing/decreasing bp to unsafe levels. All I know, is that after being off for 11 days, my symptoms are more obvious, esp. leg drag and slowness. lefty

I guess the dentist likes the challenge of trying to hot a moving target :) Best of health, Mark
