great question. For the congestion, sudafed pe is good. Go with the regular strength, not the 12 hour or long acting. This has less tendency to cause agitation or "the shakes" than the sudafed you have to get at the pharmacy counter. As far as a cough supressant, you can use regular robitissin dm. It works well and is ok to take with pd and is ok to take with the meds he is on. As you have probably noticed, almost all the cold meds say "don't take this if you have ......,pd.
