I take 25/100 carbidopa/levo 5 x daily, selegiline hcl5mg. capsule, metanx tablet. My biggest issue is the leg weakness and aching which makes walking difficult. It usually takes 45 min to an hour to kick in. My neuro wants to put me on a nicotine patch. Any body tried this?

Wow - I'll be interested to see what you think. My husband brought this up with my neuro about 2 years ago. He said the downsides of the nicotine did not make it worth it. I don't know though - it sounds like it could be worth it depending on your symptoms. Anyway, keep us in the loop. Michelle

It has been reported to me that Dr. Nikita Katz, a specialized neurologist on Parkinson, recommended recently at a conference in Texas, the use of a Nicotine patch. If effectice, it reduces the stiffness that comes with Parkinson. He apparently suggest tying it for one our two days. If it's going to have any effect, you would know by then. I pan on raising it with my Neuro in November.
