I had the very same experience. Requip worked for me, as well, until the dosage got too high and I had some very bad experience. See my notes on the rasadeline thread... has done amazing things for me.

I have weird sensations in legs, too...sharp pain, tingling, numbness. I am getting some burning in calf recently and hope this is PD related and not another problem. Anyone else feel burning sensation in legs? And why are these symptoms not described as part of PD?

Hi jma I heard that the odd leg sensations that we both are experiencing is called RLS (restless leg syndrome) which is one of several secondary PD symptoms. I don't know how true is this but.....

I had those same weird sensations for a few years before I was dx with PD. I tried quinine and it didn't do any good. Once I was dx with PD, I started sinemet cr and the sensations are mostly under control. I still get those occasional jolts of electricity, but I can sleep now without my leg dancing all over the bed. ---------- Penny

Hi Folks!! Other than Requip to help rid of the odd sensations on the legs--twitching, throbbing, etc--can anybody suggest any other med or natural remedy? Thanks much.

I have tingling and numbness in my legs and feet. Sometimes my feet feel like they are on fire. Requip didn't help and my neurologist says this is not related to Parkinsons

Janie, Funny that my neurologist said that some PWP have experienced odd sensations on legs. So, did my massage therapist as she has PD patients who complain about these symptoms.

funny how so many PWP seem to be having odd sensations in their legs. I saw a movement disorders specialist today for a 2nd opinion. She also said this was a separate issue and not related to PD. She said it was probably peripheral neuropathy.

FYI: I read up on what the symptoms of Peripheral Neuropathy (PN) are: • A tingling sensation in the toes or in the balls of the feet that eventually spreads up the legs toward the trunk. Less commonly, the sensation may begin in the hands and spread up the arms. • Numbness in the hands and feet that spreads up the arms and legs. • Weakness or heaviness in muscles throughout the body. This may be accompanied by cramping, especially in the feet, legs, and hands. • Sensitive skin that may be painful to the touch. Prickling, burning, tingling, or sharp stabbing sensations may occur spontaneously and usually worsen at night. • A foot-drop walking gait and/or problems with balance or coordination. It seems to me that the last symptom is one of the primary symptoms of PD. I could be wrong.

I read on the messages board from one of the members who took PD for there legg sensations, and that it help what is PD? I have been having these sensations for 15 years or more, there in my arms as well as feet, requiped work for a hour then it stops. I also have a crackling noise in my brain as well as pulsating sensation in all my arteries, so I have to take neurotin, melatonin, homeopaths, or even a tranqualizer to sleep at night. So if anyone has some suggestion, how I can at least alleviate the legg and arm sensation please email me at specialone.4590@yahoo.com Until these new test results come back from the neurologist. How do I find a movement specialist.

I have been diagnosed with PD 15 years ago and am 3 yrs post DBS procedure. I have had numbness, tingling, burning & throbbing in the soles of my feet for years. I have always assumed it was part of this lovely disease process. It has gotten more intense over the last few years, almost intolerable. It always occurs when my dopamine level is low, and is relieved when I take my scheduled sinemet dose, every 3-4 hours. If I sleep through the night, it is quite severe in the morning. Mirapex made it worse, and I can't tolerate requip. I take azilect & comtan in addition to the sinemet. Ice helps, but that is not practical every 3-4 hours.
